To begin, we need to remove the back cover. To open it, heat the back cover up and then use something like plastic pry bar to remove the cover.

The back cover has a foam layer along the edges to keep the phone water resistant.

To remove the battery, disconnect the battery power cable from the plastic strip that has a small amount of glue on it.

To remove the motherboard, remove the screws and a small plastic block.

After then, the motherboard can be removed.
